Committee Reports

Office Location Report – Josette

Many offices looked at and called about—result:  Best situation so far is to use the same office we used in 2006 (a room in ReMax) in Scappoose.  Josette will continue to look into other options.

Fund Raising Mailer Report – Jane

Jane requested putting her report on next months agenda when she will have more input from other committee members. Mailers are atop the list of choices, as are items for sale from proposed County Dem. office (starting after the primary).

Candidate Fair – Jesse—is out of the country.  He has contacted all the candidates and received confirmation.  Everyone is encouraged to attend the Candidate Fair in Rainier April 17 in Rainier (green building behind city building) 6pm.

Election events/party – Julane was appointed in her absence, but graciously agreed to put together primary/general election gatherings T/B/A.

Platform Convention date is April 11-13 in Eugene. The time for input has expired. Those who wish to attend should contact Jolene.

 Old Business

Motion to accept Bylaw change 9.4--passed

9.4  Members of the CCDCC when voting for                         officers shall cast their votes by secret ballot.

Bylaw change (9.5) regarding the counting of ballots for the election of officers postponed until it can be reviewed all members via email.

New Business

A discussion on recording of our meetings. Members were in general agreement that it was not something the committee wanted to do and the issue was dropped.

Additions

Wayne Kennedy offered to come and explain the process of  becoming a Delegate to the National Convention.  After a discussion, it was decided those who wished would seek out information from DPO website.

Dale Chambers is attending a forum on prison correctional reform April 5, and will present a report at our next meeting.

Jolene shared a glimpse of her recent trip to Antigua. For 2 weeks, she and other volunteers from this area have erected 3 homes and a homeless shelter, visited and cared for the neediest of the city’s children, and caught a side trip to a Mayan temple.

Next meeting April 29th at the Kozy Korner, same time/same place.
