Grow our base
We need more precinct people in many areas in the
county. Large maps of the county were displayed to show those precincts that
still need representation. Let’s recruit new members everywhere, but especially
in areas still unrepresented.
Other Business:
Pat Cunningham wished to thank Rosemary for bringing up the timber tax last
meeting, provoking a new look at the law and how to correct it. He added that
development needs to pay for itself and, while our focus as Columbia Co.
Democratic Central Committee is on the candidates, it is the issues that drive
passions.
Rosemary remembered Lance Cpl. Nathaniel Windsor,
the young Marine from Scappoose that was killed in Iraq. He was memorialized
Saturday with a procession down Hwy 30, as many of us stood along the route
honoring his sacrifice.
Next meeting April 24th in Rainier - Location T/B/A
