Committee Reports

    Office Location Report – Josette

            Our office at the ReMax office in Scappoose is now open. The phone number is 503 543-3250.  We will be starting a sign up sheet for staffing.

 

Candidate Materials – Jolene

          Requests for candidate materials have gone out. Items will be stored at our office. Local and state candidate materials will be distributed without charge; Obama materials will be charged in accordance with cost.

 

                 

Old Business

          Columbia County Fair, July 16-20 – Jolene

           Buttons have been purchased and will be for sale; we will be selling bottled water with a dime a bottle return refund; and, candy will be free. We’d like to have a poster made boasting the progress of the Democrat’s legislative successes and policies.  Set up will be Tues. July 15^th at 6:30 pm.  Jolene will be sending out a reminder as well as requests for volunteers.

 

          DNC delegate update – Jolene

            Jolene did not win a delegate seat at state, but has a chance at being appointed as a DPO delegate at large. The committee heartily concurs that Jolene is the most deserving of those yet to be seated, and, we thank her for her many hours, days, and years of service.

New Business

    Election Results/Reorganization

          Our newly elected precinct persons have been officially recognized and we are looking at August to proceed with our reorganization and election of officers. Anne Cox is acquiring new precinct maps and will bring them to our next meeting.

    Plan our summer activities

            July 4^th          Clatskanie – Earl sent the information to Julane for registration

                               Jolene and Roger will cover this day.

            Jul 11-12     Rainier Days – Roger will set up the tent in Rainier,

Nancy and Chip are covering Friday, Jolene and Roger will cover Saturday.

           Jul 16-20      Columbia County Fair – please sign up via email to Jolene.

            Aug 1-3       Vernonia Jamboree – please contact Jolene to volunteer

            Labor Day   State Fair – we need to cover 2 shifts with 4 people each for the morning and afternoon shifts

            Sep 13^th      Scappoose Sauerkraut Festival – booth needs volunteers

            Sep 26^th      Octoberfest at Columbia Co. Fairgrounds

            Oct 8^th        Salmon Festival at the Col Co Fairgrounds – Earl will lead.

            Oct 15^th      Candidate Forum at Scappoose High School – Ryan is organizing 

 

          Jolene will find out about the AWPPW picnic and if we can do registration there.

            Bill Blank has been appointed to “Archemedes Movement,” Gov. Kitzhabor’s new health plan.  If you’d like more info, please contact Bill at BlankFamily@centurytel.net.
