Motion made and passed (Jamie Maygra) to suspend order of agenda as a courtesy to our guest speaker.
Presentation by Margie Castle “In opposition to LNG”.
Questions were postponed until the end of the meeting.
Meeting/Committee Reports
Fund Raising- Roger .
Ice Cream Social with Ben & Jerry – Roger Wuollet has looked further into the possibility of using this at the Sauerkraut Festival Sept. 15th and was told that booth space was not available. He will continue the fundraising pursuit with the goal of supporting a Columbia County 2008
E-Bay- Mark Karol-Chik offered to sell donations online through E-Bay. He is going to look into the requirements of political discloser and report back at our next meeting Elections office. Buttons and Banners – We will continue to sell at the summer events.

County Fair – Donna
State Fair- per Jolene: We have a full compliment of volunteers for Labor Day-Columbia County Dem Day
A Sign-up sheet for the Sauerkraut Festival, Sept. 15th will be sent out.
Adopt-a- Highway- Roger
Columbia Democrats Signage still not up. Jolene was told that it would be up by this date. She is currently out of state, but will contact the Highway Dept when she gets back.
County Reports –Rita and Joe
The budget is balanced for this year. Although we have a reprieve, it is still questionable what services will be provided in the future without a sustainable increase in revenues.
Scappoose Library Board – Bill Blank
"Drinking Liberally"- Julane

Legislative Wrap-Up Report “Most Successful Session Since 1973” – Rep. Brad Witt
Measures 49 & 50- The discussion will be carried over to our Sep. meeting.. Motion made and passed (Pat Cunningham) that we have separate votes on Measure 49, Measure 50, and on the LNG resolution at our September meeting.
Next Meeting will be last Tues. in September. in Vernonia at the Buckhorn Restaurant.
