The CCDCC met in Vernonia at the New Hong Kong restaurant. The

following members were in attendance Craig Frasier, Nancy Federici, Susan

Easley, Geneva Shadley, Carol Smith, Karen Ladd, Paula Becks, Josette Hugo,

Stan Egass, Gary Heide, Dorothy Robertson, Jolene Jonas, Paul Dinu, Rod

Bennion, Claudia Eagle, Bill Eagle, Joe Corsiglia, Debbie Corsiglia, Pat

Zimmerman, Norma Olson, Ted Olson, Diana boom, and Darryl Boom. Karen

McFarlane and Dave Freitag attended as visitors.

Bill Eagle called the meeting to order. Each person present introduced

themselves to the group. Bill announced the resignations of Jolene Jonas

plaques of appreciation to the three for their services to the CCDCC. Susan

accepted for Peter and herself.

Craig Frasier moved to not accept the resignations. Paul Dinu seconded

the motion. After some discussion, Susan still chose to resign. The motion

was amended to not accepting Jolene's resignation. The motion was passed

chaired the remainder of the meeting.

Joe Corsiglia presented the treasurer's report. The previous meeting the

committee had approved the purchase of a button maker. There was a dollar

limit approved. The button maker purchased cost $150. The CCDCC officers

approved this higher expenditure. Part of the button maker does not work,

so it will need to be returned.

The committee then reviewed the new draft by-laws. There are two

significant changes:

5.2 Eligibility Any registered Democrat who is a legal resident of

Columbia County or a current precinct committee person within the county

6.16 Legislative committee

6.1.6.1 the legislative committee shall report on legislation and

legislative issues, from all levels, that will be of interest to Democrats

of Columbia County. They will advise the CCDCC of any recommendations of

Members were asked to sign up for the Vernonia parade, Scappoose

Festival and the state and county fairs. Additional assignments were

accepted by the following members

Organizational committee (to increase the permanent membership) - Rod

Bennion, chair

Fundraising committee - Craig Frasier (chair), Gary Heide, and Paul Dinu

Strategy committee - Jolene Jonas (chair), Diana Boom, Darryl Boom,

Secretary - Karen Ladd

Paula Becks donated precinct maps to the CCDCC. Karen McFarlane and

Dave Freitag were present and interested in becoming members of the CCDCC.

It was moved and approved to accept Karen representing E. Chapman precinct

and Dave representing Deer Island precinct.

Our next meeting will be on October 15th in Clatskanie. The meeting
